Sheraton Downtown Dallas Upgrades Security with an Integrated IP Video Surveillance System
911 Security Camera’s full-scale IP video surveillance technology is providing a fully integrated video surveillance solution for the newly renovated Sheraton Hotel located in Downtown Dallas.
Dallas, Texas - February 3, 2009 - Dallas’s largest hotel, formerly the Adam’s Mark, is repositioning itself with extensive renovations and upgrades that exemplify the brand’s new image. Located in the heart of the Dallas financial district, the Sheraton Dallas Hotel has 1,842 guest rooms and 12 spacious convention areas that offer more than 230,000 square feet of meeting space.
The 96 security camera solution, which was installed by 911 Security Cameras, allows the hotel’s security personnel to monitor live and recorded video from all the cameras. The system also makes it possible for security to control alarms from the CCTV and access control systems, both of which are integrated over the IP network.
The Sheraton’s extensive video surveillance solution includes the installation of 48 analog cameras transferred to IP by an ACTI 16-channel video server, 36 ACTI 1.3 mega pixel vandal proof cameras, 12 ACTI 1.3 mega pixel vandal proof outdoor dome cameras, 3 NVR dual core using NUUO IP software, and 40 door sensors that serve as intruder protection.
The full integration of access control, CCTV, and video systems management delivers countless benefits to the hotel. Benefits include faster response time to incidents, increase capabilities of monitoring security, and greater control over security. The door sensors strategically placed through out the hotel act as a trigger command that allows security devices to be controlled automatically when the system is armed. If one of the door sensors is armed, the cameras surrounding the sensor will automatically turn on and begin a CCTV recording.
911 Security Camera’s consultants designed a video surveillance system that was tailored to the specific needs of the Sheraton. The Sheraton’s solution was chosen for the exceptional video quality, sophisticated monitoring capability and event handling functionality, in order to meet the challenges facing hotel security environments on a daily basis.

911 Security Cameras Deer Park Police Department Goes IP by Adopting 911 Security Camera’s Complete IP Video Surveillance Solution

911 Security Camera Inc., a Dallas-based security surveillance system provider and integrator, announces the completion of an integrated IP video surveillance system for the Deer Park, Texas Police Department. The Police Department was looking for excellent coverage and equipment from a cutting-edge surveillance system at the best possible price. 911 Security Camera met the department’s requirement to balance cost and coverage while maintaining a superior security standard.
Dallas, TX - February 25, 2009 - 911SecurityCamera Inc. designed and installed an integrated IP video surveillance system for the Deer Park Police Station. 911 Security’s IP video surveillance solution gives the department centralized control over all aspects of security. The surveillance system provides 24 hour monitoring of all areas of the department’s operations including booking areas, holding cells, interview rooms, parking lots and the entrances. A key task of the project was planning the layout of the IP security cameras, to guarantee the optimum balance between security coverage and cost.
Deer Park is a southeast Texas City located within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown Metropolitan Area. The Deer Park Police department is no stranger to utilizing state-of-the art technology. Last year the department was awarded funds to install the new Coban digital video recording system into ten of their marked patrol cars. The city of Deer Park employs a total of 61 licensed police officers and 46 full and part time civilians.
Major savings in infrastructure costs can be owed to the use of IP camera technology. An IP camera’s video signal transmits directly over Ethernet, using existing local or wide area network infrastructure. Ethernet also allows transmission of Pan/Tilt/Zoom, or PTZ, camera control commands on a single cable. In addition, video intelligent analytics software is embedded within the camera circuitry, as opposed to the server, resulting in cost savings and performance improvements. The camera’s video analytics will help the police department analyze video quicker and with more efficiency while maintaining the integrity of the digital evidence.
Key to the success of the project can be contributed to the use of 21 ACTi 1.3 mega pixel cameras with recording resolution of 1260*1024. The benefit of implementing mega pixel cameras resulted in a significant cost savings for the police department. Mega pixel technology reduced the number of cameras required because the image produced covers three times more area than a conventional camera.
911 Security Camera’s team layered the new IP access control on top of the police station’s existing access control system. The new access control system manages 21 interior/exterior doors with full integration into the complete system. 25 IP cameras are managed by one network management tool. Cameras selected for the project include 21 ACTI 1.3 mega pixel cameras and 4 IP PTZ cameras. 4 of the ACTi 1.3 mega pixel cameras are outside cameras to monitor parking lots, entrances/exits, and perimeters of the police station. 17 of the ACTi 1.3 mega pixel cameras are inside cameras to monitor all activities within the police station.
To manage the access control database and the video files, 911 Security deployed 2 custom built servers powered by Dual Xeon processors equipped with 60 days of storage at 30FPS and 1.3 resolution. NUUO IP video surveillance software manages all the ACTi IP cameras and IP PTZ cameras, allowing the police officers to monitor all camera activity simultaneously on a single network. NUUO video surveillance software was also chosen not only for its flexibility and compatibility but also for its user-friendly interface and rich features. Some such features are built-in web server, remote live viewer, embedded video enhancement tools, and detection of missing or foreign objects.
911 Security Camera Inc. executed the entire security solution for the Deer Park police department from start to finish; Everything from conducting the on-site survey to post installation support was provided by 911 Security Camera’s professional surveillance crew. 911 Security was able to supply the Deer Park police department with a superior surveillance system with the desired coverage and image quality at an affordable investment cost. The total job cost totaled to just under $40,000.

Leakey ISD Goes IP Wireless
Leakey Independent School District
Case History
Located in the beautiful Frio Canyon deep in the heart of rural Texas Hill Country North West of San Antonio, Leakey has a population of 359 with 243 students in the Leakey Independent School District, grades KG – 12.
The Board of Superintendents decided it was time to install a video surveillance system, and in March 2009, the technology director, Michael Davis, issued an public RFP to provide video surveillance at key points around the district grounds. Due to the nature of the layout and the need to have no wires strung above or in ground, the desired video surveillance system was a wireless installation. The video stream could not be through current network infrastructure so that it would not affect the bandwidth of the district LAN/WAN services (except for on-demand viewing from workstations).
Seven companies submitted proposals. Mr. Davis asked each to demonstrate their system before he awarded the bid. 911 Security Cameras proposed a digital solution with digital wireless equipment and digital IP mega-pixel cameras. 911 Security Cameras won the contract. Mr. Davis said that he choose 911 Security Cameras because he likes the digital solution provided. Other companies proposed analog solutions with analog cameras. 911 Security Cameras was the only one that not only proposed a digital solution but also was within their budget.
Leakey ISD consists of seven buildings. A wireless network connects sixteen Wise Circuit ACTi 1.3 megapixel cameras. Mr. Davis is very impressed with the high resolution compared to other school’s security systems he has seen. Leakey ISD also uses seven Inscape wireless data transmitters and receivers with a Dell Dual core xeon server and a Cisco 24 Poe switch.
Wise Circuit software is recommended for its advanced capabilities. As it is browser based, there is no need to load software onto the school’s PCs; and you can monitor, search, and playback from each camera anytime and anywhere.
With a 3-year warranty and continuing support and maintenance from 911 Security Cameras, the Leakey ISD, the students and parents will benefit from top-quality video surveillance for years to come.
